Remember the good ol’ days when tourists could pull out selfie sticks in the middle of a roller coaster? (really.. people actually did this)

Six Flags has decided to ban selfie sticks throughout their amusement parks. This comes a few weeks after Disney Theme Parks issued a similar policy.

Here is the message that Six Flag passholders received this week:

Nothing is more important to us than your safety. After careful review we’ve decided to prohibit selfie sticks, monopods, and similar devices at all Six Flags theme and water parks effective immediately. Guests who bring selfie sticks to the park will be asked to store them in their cars during their visit. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, and thank you for helping us keep Six Flags among the safest theme parks in the world!

Disneyland and Six Flags have made progress on #banselfiesticks in the US. Hopefully Disney Paris got the memo too…
